Important Standards of some herbal drugs
Ergot	It contain not less than 0.19% of total alkaloid calculated as ergotoxine of which not less than 15% consist of water soluble alkaloid ergometrine
Nux vomica	1.2% of total alkaloid calculated as 1.5 to 5.0% of bitter indole alkaloid strychnine
Rauwolfia	It contain not less than 0.14% of alkaloid calculated as reserpine
Opium	It contain not less than 9.5% of morphine calculated as anhydrous morphine
Belladonna	It contain not less than 0.3% of alkaloid calculated as L-hyoscyamine
Cinchona	It contain not less than 6% of the alkaloid of cinchona
Ephedra	It contain not less than 1% calculated as ephedrine
Senna	It contain not less than 2.0% anthracene calculated as Calcium sennoside B
Digitalis	Contain 0.2 to 0.45% mixture of cardenolide
Liquorice	Water soluble extract not less than 20% w/w
Coriander	0.3% to 1.0% volatile oil
Fennel	3 to 7% volatile oil
Clove	15 to 20% volatile oil
Cardamom	2.0 to 8.0 % volatile oil
